Meet Bruce Clokie

Founder and Principal Lawyer

Bruce D. A. Clokie is the principal lawyer at Clokie & Co. Family Lawyers. Called to the Bar in 1988, he founded his firm in 1993.

Bruce is an award-winning family lawyer in Vancouver, BC, with extensive experience at all levels of court in British Columbia. He has spoken at the annual Provincial Court Judges conference, lectured at UBC Law School, and presented at numerous family law conferences.

He takes a progressive, results-oriented, and collaborative approach to his practice, always mindful of the cost of litigation. When a negotiated solution is not possible, Bruce utilizes his extensive courtroom and litigation experience to advocate for his clients' interests.

Bruce is known for being personable and accessible, committed to achieving the best outcomes for his clients at a reasonable fee.

Meet Vinessa Sachdev

Associate Lawyer

Vinessa Sachdev is an associate lawyer at Clokie & Co. Family Lawyers, practicing in all areas of family law.

She graduated with honors from Bond University in Gold Coast, Queensland, obtaining her law degree in December 2021. During her time at Bond, Vinessa developed a strong interest in family law, particularly in supporting individuals and families through emotionally challenging situations by offering comprehensive legal guidance.

Vinessa began articling at Clokie & Co. in June 2022 and was called to the Bar in 2023. She has since successfully represented clients in various family law matters, including custody, guardianship, child support, spousal support, and child protection.

Vinessa approaches each case with empathy and sensitivity, providing personalized legal strategies tailored to each client's unique circumstances, ensuring they are informed and comfortable throughout the legal process.

Meet Ciara Dixon

Associate Lawyer

Ciara Dixon is an associate lawyer at Clokie & Co. Family Lawyers, specializing in all areas of family law. She earned her law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law in April 2023 and gained experience in child protection and family law during her articling at Clokie & Co. Ciara has successfully handled various legal proceedings, including family management conferences and mediations, focusing on early resolution.

During law school, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and conducted research on youth in care, sparking her interest in child protection law. She also has a special interest in animal law and received the Sharon Koshul Memorial Prize in Animal Law in 2022. This experience enables her to assist clients with pet custody issues empathetically.

Ciara listens with empathy, provides valuable guidance, and advocates strongly for her clients' interests.
